Very important pre-publication data released from US review of Mentor CPG (anatomical/teardrop) breast implants. These are really good quality implants of which I use a lot, and the data was very reassuring.
572 women were included in the primary breast augmentation group and outcome was reviewed over a 6-year period. Severe capsular contracture rate was 2.4% and the infection rate was less than 1%. Almost 97% of patients would make the same decision regarding their implants if asked to repeat the procedure.
The data from this study confirm the high quality of these implants, their reliability and the low risk of complications. It reassures me, and my patients, that these are a good choice of breast implant for breast augmentation.
